Six Bangladeshi women were arrested in Nashik for illegal residency in India, according to police reports on December 27. The women, aged between 25 and 41, were apprehended near the renowned Pandavleni caves on Friday. Authorities stated that a local man who facilitated their unlawful stay was also taken into custody. Acting on a tip, the police set up a trap and detained the women, discovering Bangladeshi national ID cards on their mobile phones, along with counterfeit Aadhaar and PAN cards. Two individuals, identified as Bobby and Lucky (alias Liyaqat Hameed Qureshi), from Nashik were implicated, leading to the arrest of the latter. Charges have been filed against them under various sections of the BNS, the Passport Act, and the Foreigners Act.

In another incident in Latur, Maharashtra, a restaurant owner was killed for refusing to serve liquor and cigarettes. Around midnight on Friday, three men entered BN Bar and Restaurant and demanded these items from the owner, Gajanan Namdev Kasle. When he declined their request, an argument ensued, escalating into violence. The assailants struck Kasle on the head with a stick, resulting in his immediate death. They also injured Kasle’s employee, who attempted to intervene. The attackers fled the scene with liquor bottles and ₹15,000 cash. Police later apprehended them based on CCTV footage.

In Vadodara, a family dinner turned tragic when Vipulsinh Zala, in his 40s, fell into an open manhole. Zala had stepped out around 7 p.m. to park his car and asked his family to wait. When he failed to return after 20 minutes, they began searching for him, ultimately discovering the manhole. Upon noticing floating boots inside, they alerted the fire department. Rescuers extricated Zala from the manhole, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The manhole was reportedly left open during cleaning near a sports complex.
