Urgent Alert: IMD Issues Red Alert for Multiple States – Brace for Heavy Northeast Showers in the Next Four Days!

IMD Issues Alerts for Heavy Rains Across Several States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported the presence of a monsoon depression over the Odisha coast, leading to isolated instances of extremely heavy rainfall in South Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Over the next 4-5 days, Gujarat is also expected to experience a similar weather pattern, with a slight reduction in rainfall projected thereafter.

Red and Orange Alerts for Rainfall Zones

The IMD has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, Kutch, Saurashtra, and Gujarat. An orange alert is in place for Coastal Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Konkan.

Predicted Heavy Rainfall Across Regions

From July 21 to July 24, several regions including Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, and Konkan are expected to witness isolated extremely heavy showers. Coastal Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, North Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Marathwada, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh could see significant rainfall today. Vidarbha is likely to receive heavy rainfall on July 22, while Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal may experience it on July 22 and 23. Bihar is predicted to have heavy rain from July 23 to July 24.

Heavy Downpours Expected in Central and Northern India

Vidarbha, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha are set to face heavy downpours over the next four days. Uttarakhand will see isolated heavy rainfall from July 21 to July 23, East Rajasthan from July 23 to July 24, and Himachal Pradesh on July 22 and 23. Haryana and Uttar Pradesh will experience this weather from July 21 to July 24, while East Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan will have it from July 22 to July 24. Punjab can expect similar conditions from July 22 to 23.

Northeast India Weather Update

Northeastern India is anticipated to have average rainfall combined with lightning and thunderstorms over the next four days. Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam are expected to see isolated heavy showers today.
