Breaking Barriers: Capt. Supreetha C.T. Becomes First Woman Officer Deployed at Siachen Glacier
Capt. Supreetha C.T., hailing from Mysuru, has made history as the first woman officer from the Corps of Army Air Defence to be operationally deployed at the Siachen Glacier. This landmark achievement was highlighted in a post by the Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADG PI) – Indian Army on X, celebrating her strength and determination in joining the #SiachenWarriors at the world’s highest battlefield.
The daughter of Thirumallesh, a sub-inspector of police in Talkad near Mysuru, Capt. Supreetha underwent rigorous training to prepare for her challenging deployment. A native of Chamarajanagar district, she resides in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Nagar in Mysuru.
Capt. Supreetha’s academic journey began at Shastri Vidya Samsthe in Hunsur, followed by St. Mary’s Convent in H.D. Kote, and St. Joseph’s School at K.R. Nagar. She completed her high school and pre-university studies at Marimallappa’s in Mysuru before obtaining an LLB from JSS Law College in Mysuru.
Joining the Indian Army as a Lieutenant in 2021, Capt. Supreetha pursued further training in Chennai before her posting in the Army Air Defence. Her deployment at Siachen is a testament to her remarkable capabilities and dedication to breaking barriers in serving the nation.
