North Korea Warns of Stronger Response to US ‘Hostility’
Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of North Korea’s leader, has warned the United States that Pyongyang will mount a stronger response to Washington’s “invariable hostile policy” toward the country, state news agency KCNA reported Wednesday.
KCNA quoted Kim as saying that North Korea’s counteraction would match what she described as new records in the implementation of U.S. hostility toward the DPRK, the official acronym for North Korea. “In the present reality when new records are being set in the implementation of the US hostile policy toward the DPRK, it is natural that new records should be created in our reflective counteraction,” she said, according to the agency.
The report did not specify what form the stronger response might take, nor did it provide further details on the timing or nature of North Korea’s planned countermeasures.
Kim’s warning frames North Korea’s actions as a direct reaction to U.S. policy toward Pyongyang, using language that signals continued tension between Washington and North Korea. The statement was carried by KCNA, North Korea’s state-run news outlet, which regularly publishes official commentary and statements from senior figures.
