Under its Civic Action Programme, the Khonsa Battalion of the Assam Rifles has launched a National Integration Tour for youth from the Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh to Gujarat. This initiative aims to foster national unity, cultural exposure, and social harmony. Students from Wangcha Rajkumar Government College in Deomali are participating in this tour, which includes attending the 26th Rashtra Katha Shivir organized by the Shri Vedic Mission Trust in Pransla village, Rajkot district, Gujarat. A total of 11 students from the Khonsa Battalion’s Area of Responsibility have been selected for this program.
The tour is set to take place from December 27, 2025, to January 4, 2026, and was officially flagged off on December 25 in Deomali by Wanki Lowang, the Minister for Geology, Mining, and Minerals for the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The minister praised the Assam Rifles for their proactive engagement with youth through constructive initiatives, promoting the idea of national integration.
Officials have stated that the purpose of the National Integration Tour is to instill a sense of nationalism among the youth. The program will expose participants to India’s rich cultural heritage and help them understand developmental advancements in various regions of the country. It aims to broaden their perspectives by facilitating interactions with people from diverse backgrounds.
Throughout the tour, students will engage in religious, cultural, and educational activities at the Rashtra Katha Shivir, where they will gain insights into India’s traditions, values, and social cohesion. This initiative also seeks to channel the energies of local youth positively, steering them away from social issues like drug abuse and insurgency.
The Assam Rifles reaffirm their commitment to the holistic development of North East youth and continue to implement people-centric initiatives that promote peace, harmony, and unity in the region.
