SHILLONG, August 3: Bethany Hospital Outreach Marks 10th Anniversary with Vibrant Marathon
Bethany Hospital Outreach in Nongpoh celebrated its 10th anniversary today with a lively "10th Anniversary Run," attracting participants from various age groups. The event, highlighted by a spirited community atmosphere, was headlined by Mayralborn Syiem, Chairman of the Meghalaya State Health Advisory Board and MLA of Nongpoh Constituency, who officiated as the chief guest and inaugurated the marathon.
Joining the celebration were notable figures like Kmoin Wahlang, India’s oldest marathon runner, and accomplished athlete Darishisha Iangjuh, both serving as Race Ambassadors. Their presence added a touch of inspiration to the festivities.
The marathon featured categories including 10 KM and 5 KM runs to cater to runners of all ages and skill levels. The event’s professional touch was underscored by the use of RFID timing chips from a premier race timing company based in Delhi, ensuring precise and reliable timing for every participant.
Winners in each category were awarded cash prizes, certificates, and medals, celebrating their achievements. Beyond these accolades, all participants were honored with a finisher medal and certificate, acknowledging their dedication and making the event a memorable experience for every attendee. Special recognition was given to the youngest and oldest participants, embodying the inclusive spirit of the marathon.
