Arunachal Police Triumph: Major Heroin Bust in East Siang – One Arrest Sparks Hope!
In a recent crackdown on drug trafficking in Arunachal Pradesh, the police seized 2.49 grams of heroin from the East Siang district and arrested a suspect. Acting on precise intelligence, law enforcement conducted an operation leading to the apprehension of Kadum Tatin, 26, a resident of Pasighat. East Siang Superintendent of Police Pankaj Lamba reported that along with the recovered heroin, which is valued at Rs 3,000, authorities also seized a mobile phone from Tatin. He now faces charges under Section 21 (a) of the NDPS Act at the Pasighat police station.
This operation comes on the heels of another significant bust by the Naharlagun Police, who dismantled an inter-state cannabis supply chain on December 1. The operation culminated in the arrest of Ganga Bahadur Thapa, 33, who was allegedly involved in smuggling cannabis from Assam for distribution in the Capital ICR region. Acting under the supervision of SP Naharlagun Mihin Gambo and SDPO Rishi Longdo, the task force targeted Thapa’s residence near the Kankarnallah Bridge.
These consecutive operations reflect the diligence and coordination of the Arunachal Pradesh police in combating drug trafficking and disrupting illegal supply networks, thereby maintaining public safety and law enforcement integrity in the region.
