Indian Army Exposes Pak-Backed Fake China Incursion Plot
The Indian Army and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) have flagged a coordinated social media campaign that falsely claimed Chinese forces had “severely defeated” Indian troops, advanced nearly 50 km into Arunachal Pradesh and established control over Indian territory. The Army’s official fact-check account said suspected Pakistan-sponsored accounts were pushing the claims in a coordinated manner to spread a misleading anti-Indian Army narrative.
“Several suspected Pak-sponsored social media accounts are circulating misleading claims that Chinese forces have severely defeated Indian troops, advanced nearly 50 km into Arunachal Pradesh and established PLA control over Indian territory. These false claims are being amplified in a coordinated manner to promote a misleading anti-Indian Army narrative,” the Army’s fact-check account said.
According to a post by MeitY on X that was shared by the Army account, six handles circulated identical content between 3:06 pm on November 6 and 1:46 am on November 7 — a period of less than 11 hours. The Army described the narrative as a mix of a fabricated military defeat, an exaggerated territorial incursion and unsubstantiated claims of People’s Liberation Army control. It called the activity “coordinated inauthentic behaviour.”
The Army’s fact-check account urged the public to verify border-related claims through credible and official sources before sharing them.
