Dimapur: Nagaland secured corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments worth Rs 30 crore at the Nagaland Connect 2026 CSR Conclave organised by the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on Tuesday. Fifteen letters of intent and commitment were submitted to IDAN in the presence of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Ministers TR Zeliang and Y Patton.
Held under the theme “Forging Partnerships, Creating Impact”, the roundtable was organised by IDAN in collaboration with CSRBox and drew representatives from more than 40 companies. The event saw the formalisation of several CSR partnerships through memoranda of understanding, letters of intent and commitment statements aimed at channelising corporate funds into development projects in Nagaland.
Addressing the conclave, Chief Minister Rio urged India’s corporate sector to regard Nagaland as a destination for investment and development rather than merely for assistance. He said CSR should be treated “not merely as a statutory obligation but as a powerful tool for promoting equity and inclusive growth.”
“Nagaland today is not merely a destination for assistance; it is a destination for opportunity,” Rio said, pointing to the state’s youthful demographic, its strategic position under India’s Act East Policy, and initiatives such as the Nagaki Incubation City as indicators of rising economic potential.
Rio identified education, healthcare, livelihoods, sports, environmental sustainability, women’s empowerment and youth development as priority sectors for CSR intervention. He also highlighted IDAN’s single-window mechanism, which is designed to facilitate, coordinate and monitor CSR partnerships effectively.
Inviting greater corporate participation, Rio added: “I encourage you not just to invest in projects, but to invest in people, aspirations and possibilities.” The conclave aimed to strengthen collaboration between the corporate sector and the Nagaland government, explore multi-sector and multi-company partnerships, promote CSR co-investment alongside government schemes, and create a pipeline of investment-ready development projects curated by IDAN.
