Govt Set to Review Urban Development Projects: What You Need to Know
The state government of Meghalaya plans to initiate inspections of various urban development projects in Shillong starting next week, according to Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar. During a statement made on Sunday, Dhar expressed his intent to personally oversee the reviews of ongoing projects throughout the city. “Next week, I will go for inspections of different projects implemented across Shillong,” he noted.
Regarding the ongoing city beautification initiative, Dhar assured that there is ample time for its successful completion, emphasizing that it is part of a larger infrastructure development plan. When questioned about the financial aspects of the project, he revealed that costs have surpassed Rs 30 crore.
Dhar stressed that the government’s primary focus at this time is on infrastructure-related work, including enhancements to footpaths and beautification efforts. “Currently, our priorities are infrastructure development, footpaths, and beautification. Once we address these, we will turn our attention to the cleaning of the Wahumkhrah,” he added.
