A bizarre and shocking incident has come to light from Mumbai, where the Wakola police have registered a case against a 25-year-old mother of two for allegedly attacking her lover with a sharp weapon in a secret location. According to reports, the incident occurred after her lover refused to leave his wife and marry her, leading to the assault.
This incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, January 1, following New Year celebrations at the suspect’s residence in Santa Cruz. Police reports reveal that the 42-year-old victim is the brother-in-law of the suspect. They are believed to have been involved in an illicit relationship for the past seven years, during which the woman has two children aged four and seven. Following the attack, the suspect has gone into hiding.
The victim was initially rushed to a nearby VN Desai hospital before being transferred to Chaitanya Hospital, where she underwent surgery promptly. Dr. Pramod Ingale, Dean of Chaitanya Hospital, confirmed that she had received timely treatment and is recovering well.
Authorities state that the suspect desired to marry the victim but was not willing to leave her spouse and children. When her husband found out about the affair, a dispute ensued at home. The victim indicated to the police that after this confrontation, she told the suspect to “understand the situation.”
Following the confrontation, the suspect returned to her hometown in Bihar but reappeared on December 19. The victim attempted to clarify things again with the suspect on December 24, considering they both had children and families involved.
On New Year’s Day, around 1:30 AM, the suspect invited the victim to her house to share sweets for the celebrations. An officer reported that as the victim was attempting to leave, the suspect attacked her with a sharp object, stabbing her in a vulnerable area while her two children were asleep in the room.
Despite the severe blood loss, the victim managed to escape and alerted her son and brother, who then rushed her to a nearby hospital. The police noted that throughout her stay in Bihar, the suspect had been threatening the victim over the phone.
The police have formed a team to arrest the suspect, who is facing charges for grievous bodily harm and criminal intimidation under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
