Tragic Revelation: Zubeen Garg’s Body Found Covid-Positive at Death
Raijor Dal chief Akhil Gogoi has voiced grave concerns regarding the Special Investigation Team’s (SIT) approach to the death of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, who passed away on September 19 in Singapore. According to Gogoi, investigators have inadequately recreated the crime scene where Garg died.
While reviewing the chargesheet, Gogoi pointed out what he described as a troubling inconsistency involving a COVID-19 certificate. He revealed that Zubeen’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, had provided police with documentation from Singapore’s health authority, asserting that her husband’s body was declared infectious with COVID-19 as of September 20, 2025.
The politician also criticized the investigative methods employed by the SIT, noting that only two pieces of evidence were collected from the scene: a 500ml bottle of natural mineral water from Singapore and a video recording of the location. “They should have taken the accused persons to the spot and recreated the scene, but they only shot a video,” said Gogoi, casting doubt on the investigation’s thoroughness.
These allegations have raised new questions about the transparency and effectiveness of the investigation into Zubeen Garg’s death. Gogoi’s remarks hint at potential shortcomings in standard investigative procedures, especially concerning the reconstruction of crime scenes-a vital component in serious criminal investigations.
The case remains in the public eye as calls intensify for a more in-depth examination of the circumstances surrounding Zubeen Garg’s untimely death in Singapore.
