Discover the 139 BH Series Registration Numbers Issued in Mizoram Since 2022
The Mizoram government has issued BH (Bharat) series vehicle registration numbers to 139 applicants since September 2022, according to officials from the state’s transport department. The BH series is a pan-India vehicle registration system launched by the Central government in August 2021, officially taking effect on September 15 of that year.
The first BH series number in Mizoram was assigned on September 1, 2022, and up until now, a total of 139 vehicles have registered under this system. Beneficiaries primarily include government and private sector employees who frequently travel or relocate to different states across the country.
Eligibility for BH registrations is strictly governed by Rule 47 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. Only candidates who meet these requirements can obtain a BH registration. Officials have clarified that this registration is specifically available to central and state government employees, defense personnel, and private sector employees whose companies operate in at least five states or Union Territories.
Furthermore, it was noted that changes made last year allow the issuance of a BH series number for only one vehicle per individual. This ensures a more streamlined implementation of the registration system.
