Live Updates: Today’s BTC Election Vote Counting Begins at 8 AM!
The vote counting for the BTC elections began today, September 26, at 8:00 AM. In anticipation of the results, several layers of security have been set up to ensure a smooth process. The administration is also closely monitoring the situation to prevent any unexpected disturbances.
It is noteworthy that the voting process was completed on September 22 in 40 council constituencies in Bodoland. According to the election commission’s data, a total of 316 candidates participated in the BTC elections.
Among these, there were 52 candidates from Baksa district, 56 from Chirang, 100 from Kokrajhar, 40 from Tamulpur, and 68 from Udalguri. The total number of voters in BTC is 2,657,937.
This includes 1,323,399 male voters, 1,334,521 female voters, and 17 voters from the third gender. It is important to note that in the previous 2020 BTC elections, the BPF won 17 seats, the UPPCL secured 12 seats, the BJP won 9, Congress gained 1, and the GSP also acquired 1 seat.
