The Shakti Samvad program gathered representatives from various State Women Commissions across India, fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge exchange. Among the innovative initiatives highlighted during the two-day event were the establishment of Pre-Marital Communication Centers and the MENO-MIND program, which addresses mental health issues related to menopause.
The agenda featured a variety of sessions tackling significant topics, including a review of women-centric schemes, efforts to combat human trafficking, and discussions surrounding the legal age of consent. Additionally, attendees engaged with themes like “Inner Women,” the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and cybersecurity, and the significant roles played by women framers of the Indian Constitution.
Discussions also addressed menopause and mental well-being, as well as the implications of the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita from a women’s viewpoint. The theme “Care Matters: Unpaid Work, Women’s Lives and State Responsibility” was also explored to underscore the crucial roles women play in society.
The Shakti Samvad program emerged as a vital platform for dialogue, reiterating the commitment of both the NCW and State Women Commissions to uphold women’s rights and advance gender equality nationwide.
