Crucial Meeting of INDIA Bloc Leaders in Delhi Ahead of Bihar Polls
NC president Farooq Abdullah announced on Saturday that the Congress party has scheduled a meeting for opposition leaders in New Delhi on August 7. The meeting aims to discuss strategies for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, set to take place in October and November.
Abdullah also expressed optimism regarding the potential restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). “We have faith in the one who is the master of all. We will get our rights,” he stated, reflecting confidence in the political process.
In response to comments made by Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, who claimed to possess significant evidence of electoral malpractice, Abdullah remarked that Gandhi has suggested their arrangements would ensure a victory in Bihar. “I am going to meet him. All the leaders of the INDIA bloc have been called for a meeting on August 7, and I will find out the truth,” Abdullah added.
When addressing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) claims of progress following the abrogation of Article 370, Abdullah chose to refrain from direct criticism, stating, “I will not say anything. Whatever the BJP says, it keeps on saying.” He referenced international parallels by saying, “Trump also keeps on shouting that I got peace done. Today they have imposed 25% tariff on us… The material for our destruction is being prepared. All our industrialists are running away,” pointing to ongoing economic concerns.
