Tragic Loss: Air India Cabin Crew Member Lamnunthem Singson Returned Home
The mortal remains of Lamnunthem Singson, an Air India cabin crew member who tragically lost her life in the Ahmedabad plane crash, were received by her family at Dimapur airport on Thursday. Singson, who was from the Kangpokpi district in Manipur, was transported from Ahmedabad to Nagaland on an Indigo flight, according to officials.
Attending the arrival were representatives from the Kuki Student Organisation Sadar Hills. The 26-year-old belonged to the Kuki community. Family members and community leaders journeyed from Kangpokpi to Dimapur in approximately ten vehicles to honor her return, as shared by a cousin of Singson.
Singson was one of 241 passengers onboard Air India Flight AI 171, which crashed moments after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad on June 12. Originally from the Old Lambulane colony in Imphal, her family relocated to Kangpokpi district due to ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki communities in the state earlier this year.
Another crew member from Manipur, Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma, also perished in the crash, though her remains have yet to be returned to the state from Ahmedabad.
