Tragic Love Triangle: Shocking Murder Leads to Six Arrests
Tripura Police have successfully solved the murder of a 28-year-old man, whose body was discovered in a freezer 112 kilometers from his home, a crime rooted in a love triangle. Shariful Islam, a resident of Agartala, went missing on June 8, with his body being found three days later concealed within a freezer at an ice cream shop in Gandatwisa, owned by the father of the main suspect.
According to West Tripura Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar, both Shariful and Dr. Dibakar Saha, also 28, were romantically linked to the same woman from the Chandrapur area in Agartala at different times. Shariful had recently ended his relationship, while Dr. Saha had just begun his. Concerned that Shariful might interfere, Saha allegedly orchestrated the murder to eliminate him.
On the day of his disappearance, Shariful was lured to a house in South Indranagar under the guise of receiving a gift. There, Saha, aided by Animesh Yadav and Nabanita Das, allegedly strangled him to death. The body was then placed in a large trolley bag and transported to Gandatwisa the following morning.
In an effort to hide the crime, the body was stored in a commercial freezer at the shop owned by Saha’s father, Dipak Saha. Law enforcement has arrested six suspects: Dr. Dibakar Saha, Jaydip Das (20), Nabanita Das (25), Animesh Yadav (21), Dipak Saha (52), and Debika Saha (48), who is the accused’s mother. The investigation is still ongoing.
