92 Illegal Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested in Shocking 10-Day Operation: A Bold Move for Justice!
In a significant operation, the Delhi Police apprehended 92 Bangladeshi nationals during a meticulous 10-day drive through south-west Delhi. The crackdown, which included door-to-door checks, took place in several neighborhoods, such as Sarojini Nagar, Kishangarh, Safdarjung Enclave, Vasant Kunj, Kapashera, Palam Village, and Sagarpur.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West), Surendra Choudhary, reported that 88 individuals from Bangladesh were detained for failing to present valid documentation supporting their residency in India. Most of those arrested are believed to have entered the country illegally, navigating across rivers or finding gaps in border fencing. The detainees have reportedly been living in Delhi for years, often working as daily laborers or domestic help.
Among those arrested was a Bangladeshi couple, Mohd. Asad Ali, 44, and Nasima Begum, 40, along with their two children, Naim Khan, 18, and Asha Moni, 13. Residing in Delhi Cantonment, the family disclosed that they had been living in India illegally for the past 12 years and originate from Kurigram district in Bangladesh.
This extensive initiative by the police aims not only to address illegal immigration but also to enhance community safety and security in the capital. As the authorities continue to focus on law enforcement in urban areas, the operation sheds light on the ongoing challenges associated with illegal residency and border control.
The ongoing surveillance and subsequent actions taken by the Delhi Police underscore a broader commitment to uphold national laws while tackling the complexities surrounding immigration. As the operation unfolds, the police are expected to continue their vigilance in identifying and addressing unauthorized residency in the region.
This crackdown has sparked conversations about both the challenges faced by undocumented migrants seeking a better life and the responsibilities of governments to regulate immigration effectively. The discussions continue as communities in Delhi and beyond respond to these developments.
As of May 28, 2025, the local and national dialogues around immigration remain pertinent, each story highlighting the diverse experiences and circumstances that shape migrant lives.
