On August 20, the Tihu branch of the Elora Science Forum is set to host a “Science Awareness Day” to promote scientific thinking in society, combating superstitions and blind beliefs. In line with this initiative, a state-wide essay competition titled “Jotindra-Bhagirati Commemoration” has been organized.
Participants will have the chance to win cash prizes of ₹3,000 for first place, ₹2,500 for second place, and ₹2,000 for third place, along with certificates of achievement.
The essay topic is “The Importance of Scientific Thinking in Assamese Society.” Students from the 11th grade through the undergraduate level are invited to submit essays between 1,000 to 1,500 words in Assamese. Each essay should be typed in 14-point font on white paper, and must include the student’s institution name, class, roll number, and mobile number. All submissions must be sent to the specified address by June 30, 2025, and there is no entry fee for this competition.
