Shocking Unveiling: Class 12 Student Behind 23 Terrifying Bomb Threats to Delhi Schools, Police Reveal
In a recent development, the Delhi Police revealed that a series of bomb threat emails targeting schools in the national capital were traced back to a Class 12 student. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South, Ankit Chauhan, confirmed the student’s confession to sending the threats, which mentioned bombs supposedly planted in school premises. The revelation came shortly after the police disclosed that threats to at least three schools were emailed by their own students intending to postpone exams.
An initial investigation by the Delhi Police’s special cell uncovered that two siblings were responsible for some of these emails, having drawn inspiration from previous incidents of similar threats. The siblings were questioned and later released with a warning to their parents. The trend of students being involved in such threats extends to schools located in areas like Rohini and Paschim Vihar.
A disturbing series of these hoaxes began in December the previous year with a demand for $100,000 in exchange for deactivating alleged explosives in 44 schools. Subsequent threats continued on December 13 and 14, with mentions of “bomb vests” escalating concerns. Since May, over 50 emails threatening not just schools but also hospitals, airports, and airlines have been reported in Delhi, causing significant disruptions.
This spate of threats highlights a worrying trend of students engaging in activities with serious criminal implications. While some have been identified and warned, the need for parental awareness and school policies addressing such behaviors is underscored. The authorities continue to prioritize investigations to ensure security and prevent further hoaxes that disrupt educational and public life.
