PM Modi Triumphantly Unveils Transformative Jammu Railway Division Amid Groundbreaking Projects!
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several significant railway projects via video conferencing today. Aiming to enhance regional connectivity, the Prime Minister will officially open the new Jammu Railway Division. Furthermore, he will inaugurate the Charlapalli New Terminal Station in Telangana and initiate the construction of the Rayagada Railway Division Building under the East Coast Railway.
The Charlapalli Railway Terminal, located in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana, has been developed into a modern coaching terminal with a budget exceeding 400 crore rupees. This eco-friendly terminal boasts advanced passenger amenities and is designed to alleviate congestion at major stations in the area, such as Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kacheguda.
During the inauguration, several Central Ministers, including Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, will be present. Officials highlight that the Charlapalli Terminal is equipped with facilities commonly found in airports, ensuring a seamless travel experience for passengers. The terminal features nine platforms, four of which are newly constructed, capable of accommodating 20 long-distance trains and catering to increased passenger traffic.
Modern amenities at the station include separate waiting rooms for men and women, an executive lounge, cafeterias, and restaurants to serve passengers’ needs. Its strategic location near the Outer Ring Road (ORR) ensures convenient access for commuters from the suburbs.
Additionally, two newly constructed foot overbridges will facilitate easy inter-platform movement. The terminal also offers modern restroom facilities, coach maintenance resources, and eco-friendly initiatives such as rainwater harvesting pits and solar panels.
By advancing these projects, India continues to address its growing transportation demands while integrating sustainable development practices, underscoring the government’s commitment to modernizing the nation’s railway infrastructure.
