Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the positive impact of the central government’s policies on rural India, asserting that these initiatives are invigorating rural communities. Speaking at the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 in New Delhi, PM Modi highlighted the government’s commitment to transforming villages into dynamic growth hubs under the theme ‘Building a Resilient Rural India for Viksit Bharat 2047’.
During his address, PM Modi underscored the government’s provision of top-tier healthcare services, even reaching remote areas, and referenced the success of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution across Indian villages. He stressed the importance of inclusive economic policies in strengthening the rural economy and praised the government’s efforts over the past decade.
The Prime Minister also spotlighted achievements like the widespread access to clean drinking water and health services, with more than 1.5 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs providing better healthcare options. Digital technology has connected villages with top doctors and hospitals, enhancing the telemedicine infrastructure.
PM Modi noted the significant financial support given to farmers under the PM-KISAN scheme, which has disbursed approximately Rs. 3 lakh crore. He mentioned the tripling of agricultural loans over the last decade and the recent extension of the PM Fasal Bima Yojana. The success in reducing rural poverty was also highlighted, with a notable decrease from 26% in 2012 to under 5% in 2024, as per an SBI research report.
These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to empowering rural India and reducing poverty, contributing to a strengthened rural economy and improved quality of life for villagers.
