Shocking Allegations: Gandhi Family’s Disrespect Towards Non-Gandhi Congress Leaders, Claims Pralhad Joshi – Northeast News
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, during his visit to Tripura, criticized the Gandhi family for allegedly disrespecting non-Gandhi leaders within the Congress party. Addressing allegations that the Centre disrespected former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by conducting his last rites at Nigambodh Ghat instead of a more honored location, Joshi dismissed these claims as “unfortunate and cheap politics.” He asserted that while Singh was deserving of great respect, all appropriate measures were taken to provide him full state honors at his funeral, as directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and executed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Joshi also highlighted Congress’s purported neglect of honoring other notable leaders such as former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and former President Pranab Mukherjee. He cited an example where Mukherjee’s daughter noted that the Congress failed to call a Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting after her father’s demise. Furthermore, Joshi pointed out that the Congress never awarded the Bharat Ratna to Rao nor showed due respect to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, suggesting that the Gandhi family should introspect on these issues.
During his two-day stay in Tripura, Joshi, who holds the portfolios of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, as well as New and Renewable Energy, reviewed centrally sponsored schemes under his ministries. His remarks come amidst ongoing political friction and serve to underline the Union government’s stance against the Congress’s internal practices concerning its leaders’ legacies.
