Boy Injured During “Pushpa 2” Premiere Responds After 20 Days; Father Praises Support from Allu Arjun and Telangana Government
In a recent update, the father of a boy injured during the premiere of "Pushpa 2: The Rule" at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad reported that his son has finally responded after 20 days. The incident occurred on December 4 when a large crowd gathered to see actor Allu Arjun, who greeted fans from his car’s sunroof. This led to a tragic crowd surge that resulted in the death of a woman named Revathi and injuries to her child.
Bhaskar, the child’s father, expressed gratitude for the support they have received from both Allu Arjun and the Telangana government. He mentioned that ongoing support is aiding their recovery process.
On the day of the incident, Allu Arjun was detained by Hyderabad police for his involvement but was released on bail with a Rs 50,000 bond. The controversy surrounding the event intensified when Pushpa 2 producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar presented a Rs 50 lakh compensation cheque to Revathi’s family at KIMS Hospital, in the presence of Telangana’s Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. The cheque was accepted by Revathi’s husband.
Producer Naveen Yerneni expressed deep sorrow for the incident, stating, "We have been deeply saddened since the day it happened. Revathi’s death is a significant loss for the family, and we aim to support them however we can."
The incident has sparked political controversy, with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy holding Allu Arjun partially responsible for the tragedy. During an Assembly session, he disclosed that police had refused permission for events at Sandhya Theatre due to safety concerns. Despite this, actor Allu Arjun proceeded with the event, exacerbating the situation.
The boy’s recovery is ongoing, with medical professionals at KIMS Hospital attentive to his needs. The support from both the entertainment industry figures and government highlights a communal effort to help the affected family regain their footing after the tragic event.
