Shocking Manipur Drug Bust: Police Seize Heroin and Tighten Security Statewide
Manipur Police recently intercepted a vehicle on Pallel Chandel Road, discovering 135 grams of suspected heroin hidden in 11 soap cases within the four-wheeler. The driver, 24-year-old Md. Rousan, was arrested, with officials seizing the car, narcotics, and a mobile phone.
Simultaneously, security forces intensified operations to dominate areas in the hill and valley districts, aiming to curb illegal activities and ensure public safety. These initiatives have been particularly focused on regions deemed vulnerable.
In an effort to maintain the flow of essential goods, 262 and 336 vehicles traveled safely along National Highways 37 and 2, respectively, under stringent security measures. Security convoys were strategically deployed to guarantee the safe transit of these commodities.
Furthermore, a total of 94 Nakas and checkpoints have been set up across various districts covering both hill and valley areas. Despite these rigorous security protocols, no detentions occurred for violations, highlighting the effectiveness of the strategies implemented.
Also noteworthy is the progress of NF Railway, which has electrified over 66 percent of its network, signaling a move towards a greener future.
