Discover the Extraordinary: Uncover Hidden Gems at Andhra Loyola College’s Rare Book Exhibition
A vibrant book exhibition titled “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Samman” is underway at Fr. Gordon Library, Andhra Loyola College (ALC) in Vijayawada, celebrating National Book Week. Inaugurated by philanthropist and literary researcher P. Ashok Kumar, the event spotlights his mission to digitize Telugu literary works. The exhibition, open until November 30, features a unique collection, including rare papers of Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, the 17-volume Oxford English Dictionary, and historical documents related to the Indian Constitution.
ALC Librarian G. A. Prasad Rao highlighted the significant digitization efforts accomplished by Manasu Foundation, surpassing two crore pages. The event was graced by ALC Principal Fr. G.A. P. Kishore and other academic leaders. Concurrently, the Andhra Loyola College Staff Association (ALCSA) elected new office-bearers, with G. Sahaya Baskaran as Chairman. They also honored John Remalli for earning a PhD in Social Work and Kasaraneni Himajyothi for a PhD in Management, recognizing their academic achievements.
