Hemant Soren is poised to be sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Thursday, November 28, at 4 PM, with Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar set to administer the oath. Notably, Soren will take the oath solo, with a cabinet expansion following a vote of confidence in the assembly, according to Congress official Ghulam Ahmad Mir.
The ceremony, anticipated to capture considerable public and political interest, is open to the public, with Soren promoting a live stream on YouTube. Key political dignitaries expected to attend include Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, among others.
Soren expressed delight in having such prominent leaders present for this significant event. Preparations are underway in the city, adorned with posters and enhanced security and traffic plans, as Soren assumes office for the fourth time after his decisive win against BJP’s Gamliyel Hembrom in the Barhait constituency, securing a margin of 39,791 votes. His Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led alliance achieved a commanding victory, winning 56 out of 81 assembly seats, considerably outpacing the BJP-led NDA’s 24 seats.
