Empowering Connection: Tribals from ASR District Celebrate with PM Modi on Janjatiya Gaurav Divas
During the ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ event commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda, tribal representatives from Alluri Sitharama Raju district, including Swabhi Ganga from Araku Valley and Ravi from Pedabayalu, had the opportunity to interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jamui, Bihar, on November 15. They met him at the ITDA-Paderu stall, showcasing Araku Coffee and various tribal products, where they presented a photo album of developments facilitated by the ‘PM JANMAN’ programme in their district.
Swabhi Ganga had previously interacted with the Prime Minister virtually in January and was able to meet him in person this time. During their conversation, Mr. Modi inquired about ongoing development activities, such as water tap installations, road construction, and street lighting. He praised the globally recognized Araku Coffee and explored items from the Van Dhan Vikas Kendra. ITDA Project Officer V. Abhishek reported substantial progress, including the allocation of 22,831 houses and the opening of 33,387 bank accounts for tribals. The event, held on November 15, provided a platform for showcasing the transformative impacts of government initiatives in tribal areas.
