Urgent: IMD Issues Red Alert for Life-Threatening Rainfall in Gujarat Today
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Gujarat, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall for today. An orange alert has been announced for the Saurashtra and Kutch regions, as well as Eastern Rajasthan, Kerala, Mahe, and Coastal Karnataka, where very heavy rainfall is anticipated. Additionally, isolated places in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra are likely to experience heavy rainfall.
The IMD also predicts light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in the Eastern and Northeastern parts of the country over the next four days. Similarly, these weather conditions are expected to impact Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and West Rajasthan during the same period.
