Salman Khan Lauds Captain Smit Machchhar’s ‘Kamaal Kar Diya’ Move-Exclusive Reveal!
Bollywood Stars Salute Pilot Smit Machchhar After Mid-Air Crisis
“Kamaal Kar Diya, Captain”: Salman Khan Leads Bollywood’s Tribute to Smit Machchhar
Mumbai, Oct 3 — While Bollywood’s biggest names were busy polishing their on-screen swagger, a real-life cockpit drama stole the limelight. Superstar Salman Khan saluted Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his courage and presence of mind during a terrifying mid-air emergency, noting that it would be a pleasure to fly with him. No scriptwriter, however ambitious, could have crafted a more filmic turn.
Flydubai flight FZ1073 was reportedly travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv with 174 people aboard when the shocking incident unfolded. Machchhar was seriously injured after his co-pilot allegedly attacked him inside the cockpit. Despite his injuries, the captain managed to open the door, allowing passengers and crew members to intervene. The aircraft was subsequently diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely. Whatever else this extraordinary day produced, it was not an ordinary landing.
Khan’s tribute arrived with his characteristic dramatic timing. On X, formerly Twitter, he wrote: “Kamaal kar diya pilot ji, hum sab aap ko salute karte hain… Well done bro… Capt #SmitMachchhar.”
The opening phrase also playfully echoed his iconic Dabangg dialogue, “Kamaal karte ho, Pandey ji.” Whether calculated or coincidental, it was cinema’s bad boy turned family man delivering a first-class salute-warm, emphatic and impossible to ignore.
But the real heroism required no filters, punchlines or promotional campaign. Machchhar had to make crucial decisions with his own safety at stake while 174 lives depended on calm action. In a profession built on checklists and split-second judgement, his presence of mind became the day’s most compelling performance.
Anil Kapoor’s post carried a more personal note. The actor revealed that his business manager, Jalal, had known Machchhar since flying school and had always considered him someone he would want beside him in a difficult situation. Kapoor wrote: “What Smit did in that moment was nothing short of extraordinary. It takes immense courage to stay strong and put others first.”
He expressed respect for the captain and wished him a speedy recovery. Kapoor’s connection gave the story an added human layer: the pilot was not merely a headline, but a familiar name to someone within the actor’s inner circle.
The rest of Bollywood’s applause came quickly. Vicky Kaushal shared a photograph of Machchhar in the cockpit and wrote, “Braveheart! Capt Smit Machchhar.” Sunny Deol praised his “extraordinary courage and presence of mind,” crediting him with helping avert a disaster and save lives, while also wishing him a speedy recovery. Tamannaah Bhatia highlighted the enormous responsibility resting on the captain during the crisis. R. Madhavan joined the chorus, praying for Machchhar’s recovery and calling him a true hero.
For once, the stars were not promoting a film, defending a trailer or staging a dance number. They were simply saluting a professional who reportedly did what the moment demanded. Machchhar may have preferred a quiet cockpit over celebrity attention, but the nation has one message for him: “Kamaal kar diya, Captain”—now take care and get well soon. — IANS
