Breaking: Korean Air Excitingly Expands Fleet with Over 40 New Boeing Wide-Body Jets!
Boeing secured a significant order from Korean Air for at least 40 wide-body jetliners, including the soon-to-be-certified 777X, marking an important endorsement for the company amid its recent challenges. The deal, announced at the Farnborough Airshow, consists of 20 777X planes and 20 787-10 Dreamliners, both long-range models. Korean Air has the option to increase its Dreamliner order by 10 more units. CEO Walter Cho expects deliveries to begin later this decade.
The 777X, despite being years behind schedule, recently commenced certification tests with the U.S. FAA, signaling progress. Boeing faces delays due to post-COVID supply chain issues, safety concerns, and manufacturing flaws, but Cho remains confident in Boeing’s recovery. “If I wasn’t assured, I would not have ordered it,” he said.
Korean Air, a Delta Air Lines partner, also ordered Airbus A350-1000 aircraft earlier this year. Cho emphasized that timely delivery would determine the airline’s flagship model.
