Youth Stabbed to Death in Tirupparankundram Following Previous Enmity
Tirupparankundram, July 20 – A longstanding feud ended in tragedy when R. Rajendra Prasad (23) was fatally stabbed by his neighbor, M. Karthik (29), on Thursday night. The altercation, rooted in a drunken brawl during last Deepavali, escalated when the two met again.
According to Tirupparankundram police, the tension between the men had been evident for months. Karthik frequently stared menacingly at Prasad whenever their paths crossed outside their homes. Recently, Prasad, who worked for a private company in Sivaganga, moved his residence from Mettu Theru to an area near Saravana Poigai.
In an effort to reconcile, Prasad visited Karthik’s house around 10 p.m. on the fateful night, accompanied by his cousin, Shanmugaraj. The meeting, intended to mend their strained relationship, took a violent turn when Karthik unexpectedly drew a knife and stabbed Prasad.
Despite immediate efforts to rush Prasad to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries en route. The Tirupparankundram police have since registered a case and are investigating the incident.
This tragic episode highlights the dangers of unresolved conflicts and the need for effective conflict resolution to prevent such senseless loss of life. Further updates will follow as the investigation proceeds.
