Bidurbhai Shines on the Big Screen: From YouTube Sensation to Assam’s Cinematic Triumph!
New Satirical Comedy ‘Bidurbhai’ Gains Widespread Popularity
The satirical comedy film Bidurbhai has taken the state by storm following its recent release. The film, directed by Suvrat Kakati and produced by Arnab Hazarika under Rootstock Entertainment, first captivated audiences with its trailer, which was released on July 1st. The trailer’s success has driven unprecedented demand among cinema hall owners statewide, setting the stage for a nationwide release.
During its premiere in Guwahati and Golaghat, Kakati expressed his gratitude and excitement: "We are happy to bring Bidurbhai to the big screen. We created Bidurbhai just out of fun a few years back and were amazed by the love and support we’ve received. I dedicate this movie to the people of my state, as this has come to the big screen just out of public demand. The journey from a YouTube series to the big screen was more than a dream come true for me and my entire team."
The film stars an ensemble cast including Chumki Kachari, Pankaj Mahanta, Ashim Sharma, Neetu Khanikar, Baleen Borah, Trailokya Baruah, Ujjwal Rajkhowa, Rajib Deuri, Hirakjyoti Bordoloi, Snigdha Phukan, Sarmistha Das, Uddipona Borah, Asif Javed, Deepmoni Khataniar, Dhruba Kataki, Tanveer Zehir, and Parthajyoti Sharma.
The screenplay of Bidurbhai was co-written by Suvrat Kakati and Jyotisman Chetia, who collaborated on the story. Hemanta Gogoi and Jyotisman Chetia served as assistant directors, with Pranay Dutta providing the musical score. Bitul Das was the director of photography, supported by assistant director Uttam Kalita. The make-up artist for the film was Bijeyeta Patgiri, and the costume designer was Juri Kalita.
Following the success of his previous blockbuster Shri Raghupati last year, Suvrat Kakati’s Bidurbhai promises to deliver another memorable cinematic experience for audiences in Assam.
