Exciting Reopening! Discover the Majestic Wonders of Assam’s Manas National Park on September 27
GUWAHATI: Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve will reopen to tourists for the 2024-25 ecotourism season starting Friday, September 27, following the annual monsoon break. The reopening follows directives from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the National Tiger Conservation Authority.
Per an official notification, the reopening abides by the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, and the Assam Wildlife (Protection) Rules, 1997. The notice stated: “In modification of Office Order No. 516, dated 5th September 2024, and following the stipulated monsoon closure period as prescribed by the Government of India, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, National Tiger Conservation Authority letter no. 15-1(17)/2015-NTCA dated 18 August 2015, it is hereby informed that Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve will be open for the 2024-25 ecotourism seasons with effect from 27th September 2024.”
However, the park will remain closed to visitors every Wednesday as mandated by NTCA guidelines and the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden of Assam to ensure wildlife protection during the tourist season.
