Nagaland Employees to Join Nationwide Pension Protest
Kohima, September 24 (MExN): The Nagaland National Pension System Government Service Employees Forum (NNPSGSEF) has declared its solidarity with the All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF) by committing to participate in the ‘National Protest Day’ on September 26. This coordinated protest aims to voice opposition against the Unified Pension Scheme and the New Pension Scheme, advocating for the reinstatement of the Old Pension Scheme.
In a notable extension of support, the Confederation of All Nagaland State Service Employees Association (CANSSEA) will also be partaking in the protest. The demonstration is set to take place outside the Nagaland Civil Secretariat in Kohima from 11 AM to 1 PM. Both the NNPSGSEF and CANSSEA communicated their intent to the Nagaland Chief Secretary through a letter on September 24.
The AISGEF has orchestrated this ‘National Protest Day’ across India, with government employees from various states aligning their efforts to emphasize the significance of enduring pension benefits that the Old Pension Scheme offers, which they believe the newer schemes fail to provide adequately.
