CM Honours: 129 Brave Heroes Awarded Anna Medals for Their Selfless Service
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced on Saturday, September 14, 2024, that 129 personnel from police and other uniformed services will be honored with Anna Medals to commemorate the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai. These medals are awarded annually on September 15 to recognize exceptional dedication to duty across various departments, including Police, Fire and Rescue Services, Prisons and Correctional Services, Home Guards, and Fingerprint Science Units.
This year, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Anna Medal will be presented to 100 police officers spanning ranks from Head Constable to Superintendent of Police. Additionally, 10 Fire and Rescue Services personnel, 10 Prisons and Correctional Services personnel, five Home Guards officers, and two officers from the Finger Print Science Unit will be similarly honored. Noteworthy among the recipients are S. Manthiramoorthi, Leading Fireman, and A. Ramachandran, Fireman, from Srivaikundam Fire and Rescue Services Station in Thoothukudi, who will receive the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Fire Services Medal for Gallantry for their heroic efforts in saving 448 individuals from flooded villages on December 18 of the previous year.
The medals will be distributed at a formal ceremonial parade scheduled to be held soon.
