Taylor Swift Triumphs: Shatters Beyoncé’s MTV VMA Record in Historic Victory!
Los Angeles, Sep 12: Pop icon Taylor Swift continues her remarkable ascent in the music industry, setting new records at the MTV Video Music Awards. According to ‘Variety’, Swift achieved a stunning 30 wins, breaking the previous record of 25 solo wins set by Beyoncé. Swift also made history as the first artist to win the prestigious Video of the Year award five times.
During her acceptance speech, Swift expressed gratitude to her collaborators, including Post Malone and her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, who added encouragement during the video shoot. "I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I will always remember that," Swift said.
She also dedicated a portion of her speech to her loyal fans, thanking them for their unwavering support. "Thank you for making my life what it is, for making the Eras Tour what it’s become, and for making ‘The Tortured Poet’s Department’ what it’s become," she appreciatively told the audience.
Before leaving the stage, Swift reminded the audience to register to vote in the upcoming election, reinforcing her Instagram message from the previous night. "If you are 18, please register to vote. It’s an important election," she urged.
Swift led this year’s nominations with 12, competing in top categories such as Artist of the Year. Her collaboration with Post Malone on ‘Fortnight’ dominated the night, winning Song of the Year, Song of the Summer, and Video of the Year, among other awards. Significantly, Swift has become the only artist to secure the Video of the Year award three consecutive times.
Beyoncé, nominated for Song of the Year with her country-inspired track ‘Texas Hold ’Em’, faced stiff competition from Swift’s ‘Fortnight’ and Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’. Swift’s unparalleled success at this year’s VMAs cements her status as one of the most influential artists of her generation.
