Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang‑Golay has extended his best wishes to Kunzang Choeki as she departs for an academic visit to the United States, where she is scheduled to attend workshops and programmes at Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and other institutions, a press release from the office of the Students Welfare Board chairperson said.
The visit is intended to give Kunzang an opportunity to represent Sikkim on the global stage and to showcase the state’s Charter School initiatives. According to the release, she will present Sikkim’s educational vision and share the state’s experiences while engaging with international educators and researchers.
Officials said the programme will also allow Kunzang to gain insights into global educational practices that could be adapted locally. The Students Welfare Board chairperson noted the trip should help bring back “global knowledge, innovative ideas and best practices” to further strengthen and enrich Sikkim’s education system.
The board chairperson wished Kunzang success in her endeavour and expressed hope that her time at Harvard, MIT and other institutions will yield new ideas and experiences that contribute meaningfully to the future of education in Sikkim.
