Tiana Pandit: Mumbai 7-Year-Old Goes Viral, Stuns World
Seven-year-old Mumbai girl Tiana Pandit was named First Runner-Up and won the Best Gown sub-title at the Junior Model International World Finals held in Bangkok, Thailand, from August 19 to 22, 2026. Representing India after finishing Second Runner-Up at the national finals in Kerala in May, Tiana returned home to Mumbai on August 29 with an international medal and a special-subtitle for her evening gown performance.
Tiana, who turned seven earlier in August, competed against children from across the globe, including entrants from Nepal, Armenia, Russia, Botswana, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Kenya and South Africa. Judges singled out her evening gown walk for the Best Gown award, while her overall poise and stage presence earned her the First Runner-Up position at the world finals.
Her achievement was made more remarkable by the fact that she ran a temperature during the pageant yet chose to continue through multiple rounds. Organisers and onlookers noted her composure and determination as factors that helped her maintain a strong performance despite feeling unwell.
The accomplishment has been welcomed with pride by The J. B. Petit High School for Girls, where Tiana is a student, and by her family in Mumbai. From the India finals in Kerala to the world stage in Bangkok, Tiana’s journey underscores steady progress and confidence — a reminder that even at seven, international opportunities can follow dedication and perseverance.
