Housekeepers Demand Justice: Strikes Erupt at Top Hotel Chains for Fair Wages and Daily Room Cleaning
Fatima Amahmoud, a housekeeper at Boston’s Moxy hotel, faces daunting tasks such as cleaning 17 rooms per shift, including heavily soiled ones. The option for guests to decline daily room cleaning, touted as eco-friendly, has increased workloads as hotels cut labor costs amidst post-COVID-19 worker shortages.
