Breaking News: Will HYDRAA Devastate MGBS and Metro Stations? Shocking Inquiry by BJP
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HYDRAA) of executing weekend demolitions to evade court interventions, likening their actions to those of a “robber.” Former Minister and Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender, during a press conference alongside Medchal convenor S. Malla Reddy and Ranga Reddy district leaders B. Narasimha Reddy and P. Vikram Reddy, criticized HYDRAA for carrying out demolitions at Gaganpahad without prior notice. He also noted that notices had been issued to residents near lakes in Alwal, Boduppal, and Bowempally, among other areas.
The BJP demanded that the state government adhere to legal protocols by issuing notices before initiating demolition processes aimed at removing encroachments on water bodies’ full tank levels and buffer zones in the twin cities. Rajender emphasized that the government should compensate the affected poor, as done in irrigation projects or road constructions. He questioned the government’s logic in targeting long-standing residents who followed due legal processes to obtain permissions, suggesting that previous Congress governments were responsible for issuing those permissions.
The party clarified that it does not oppose the removal of encroachments or the demolition of properties owned by influential individuals, but urged the government to adopt a fair approach towards the less privileged who are being displaced. Rajender warned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his administration could face public backlash if they continue their indiscriminate operations.
The BJP’s stance is that the government should safeguard the welfare of the people, not create fear among those who have been residing legally for decades.
