Apple is reportedly on the verge of launching a series of innovative products that will integrate an upgraded, AI-driven version of Siri. According to a recent 9To5Mac report, at least four devices are slated for release following the debut of the revamped digital assistant. This anticipated lineup includes a new Apple TV 4K, two iterations of the HomePod (HomePod 3 and HomePod mini 2), and a smart display dubbed “HomePod Touch.”
The report, citing Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, reveals that these products have reached advanced stages of manufacturing and are currently awaiting the rollout of the updated Siri before they can hit the market. This strategic timing underscores Apple’s focus on ensuring that software enhancements align seamlessly with hardware launches.
The new Apple TV 4K is expected to feature a more potent A17 Pro or A18 chip, which will facilitate advanced Apple Intelligence capabilities. Reports indicate that stock levels for the existing Apple TV 4K are dwindling, hinting at an imminent refresh. Speculations about a new N1 wireless chip and a built-in camera have emerged, although the latter remains unconfirmed.
Additionally, Apple appears poised to refresh its HomePod line. Gurman noted that inventory for the current HomePod mini and full-size HomePod is running low at Apple Stores, often indicating upcoming updates. The next-generation HomePod mini is rumored to be powered by an upgraded S-series chip, potentially the S9 or S10. This enhancement would allow it to leverage advanced Siri features, making interactions more conversational. Similar to its Apple TV 4K counterpart, the HomePod mini 2 is anticipated to integrate the N1 networking chip to ensure faster, more reliable wireless connectivity, including support for Wi-Fi 7.
Apple is also reportedly developing a smart home hub that was previously referred to as “HomePad,” now believed to be officially named the “HomePod Touch.” This device is projected to serve as a central command station for users to manage all connected HomeKit devices through a unified interface. The HomePod Touch is expected to feature a 7-inch touchscreen and a front-facing camera for FaceTime calls. Moreover, it may offer a rechargeable battery for portability, built-in speakers, and optional accessories like a wall mount or integrated speaker stand. On the software front, it could introduce a new OS named homeOS, likely resembling the widget-based layout seen in the iPhone’s StandBy mode.
However, these anticipated product launches face delays primarily due to holdups in the enhanced Siri features. While these new capabilities were first unveiled at Apple’s 2024 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) and initially slated for a March 2025 rollout, glitches related to performance and reliability have since pushed the timeline back. Current estimates suggest a new launch window around iOS 26.4 in 2026, but further reports indicate that features may not arrive until the iOS 26.5 cycle or even extend into iOS 27.
Importantly, Apple is collaborating with Google and is set to utilize Gemini AI models to power the upgraded Siri, emphasizing the tech giant’s commitment to maintaining competitive edge in AI advancements.
