India Proudly Celebrates Its Inaugural National Space Day on August 23: A Landmark Moment!
GUWAHATI: India is set to celebrate its inaugural National Space Day on Friday, August 23, themed "Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga." This momentous occasion aims to highlight India’s achievements in space exploration and inform Indian youth about various opportunities in the space sector.
The date was chosen to mark the anniversary of India’s landmark achievement when Chandrayaan-III successfully landed on the Moon’s southern polar region. This made India the fourth country to land on the Moon and the first to reach its southern pole.
The central government has officially designated August 23 as National Space Day to commemorate Chandrayaan-III’s success. The main event will be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, providing a platform to celebrate and further inspire the nation’s space endeavors.
