Guwahati was rocked by a tragic incident of domestic violence late on Monday night, September 29, in Dakhingaon, where Kundan Hari allegedly stabbed his wife, Anuradha Devi, multiple times before setting her ablaze. The shocking events unfolded at their home on Hasib Path at around 1 AM, according to police reports. After the violent attack, it is claimed that Hari opened a gas cylinder pipe and ignited the flames, resulting in Anuradha suffering severe burns.
Neighbors, alerted by the sight of smoke and the sound of her desperate screams, quickly notified the authorities. A team from the Hatigaon Police Station responded swiftly and apprehended Hari at the scene. Initial investigations indicate that the altercation was triggered after Anuradha denied her husband money for alcohol. During interrogations, Hari reportedly confessed to the crime.
The victim’s remains have been sent to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
