Tragic Incident: Young Businessman Drowns at Nagaon’s Hadhadi Waterfall
In a heartbreaking incident on Monday morning, a young businessman drowned in the Hadhadi waterfall near Chapalana, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Samaguri police station in Nagaon district. The victim, identified as 21-year-old Sanayam Jain from Nagaon town, was enjoying water activities with friends when the tragedy occurred. Reports indicate that Sanayam, son of the late Sudarshan Jain, was with four male and three female friends at the time of the accident. Witnesses, including his friends, were left in panic as they watched the drowning unfold.
Local police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) quickly arrived on the scene to launch a search operation. They eventually recovered Sanayam’s body and transported it to the Nagaon Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
The shocking news of Sanayam’s death has deeply affected the community in Nagaon. Rupak Sarmah, the MLA for the Nagaon-Batadroba constituency, expressed his profound sorrow and offered condolences to the grieving family.
This incident is not an isolated case; several youths have met similar fates at the Hadhadi waterfall and the nearby blue water lake. In light of these tragedies, the concerned local community has been urging caution at these popular sites and calling on the Nagaon district administration to implement proactive safety measures to protect visitors, particularly at tourist locations.
