A veteran comedian and actor, known as Feich Venkata, has passed away at the age of 53 due to kidney-related complications. He succumbed to his illness on Friday at a hospital in Hyderabad, where he had been battling kidney disease for some time. His death has cast a shadow of grief over the Telugu film industry.
Though widely recognized as Feich Venkata, his real name was Venkata Raj. He had been admitted to the hospital recently due to kidney issues, with one of his kidneys having failed. Doctors had planned to conduct a kidney transplant within a few days while he was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
In an interview earlier this month, Venkata Raj’s daughter, Srabanti, revealed that they received financial assistance from the team of a fellow superstar, Prabhas. She mentioned that her father’s health was deteriorating, necessitating his stay in the ICU. The estimated cost for the kidney transplant was around 5 million rupees.
Srabanti’s family was in touch with Prabhas’s associates, who assured them of financial support. They even provided updates about when the transplant would occur. However, the family later informed a local news outlet that the call offering assistance turned out to be a hoax. When they approached Prabhas for help, they realized that no such communication had come from him.
An unknown individual had impersonated a member of Prabhas’s team, and the actor himself was unaware of Venkata’s health status. The family clarified that they had not received any financial support before the actor succumbed to his kidney complications.
Feich Venkata was well-known for his comedic roles and villainous characters, earning a significant place in the film industry. He was affectionately nicknamed “Feich” for his unique way of speaking in the regional dialect of Telangana. Additionally, he had acted in numerous popular films, including Bani, Adhuras, Dhee, and Meera Paka.
Most recently, he was seen in the thriller “Coffee with a Killer.” During the COVID-19 pandemic, he gained immense acclaim by starring in the series “Ma Bintha Gadha Vinuma” and “DJ Tillu.”
