Exciting News: A.P. Minister Announces Completion of Polavaram Left Main Canal Works this Year!
Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Development Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu has accused former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of neglecting the Uttarandhra region’s development. Speaking to the media on Friday, Naidu emphasized the current government’s dedication to completing the Polavaram Left Main Canal projects by the end of the year, highlighting their efforts to accelerate key irrigation initiatives in North Andhra.
Naidu criticized Reddy’s administration for not prioritizing essential projects, such as Sujala Sravanthi, which aims to secure water supply for the region. “Instead of focusing on critical infrastructure, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy chose to invest in extravagant buildings at Rushikonda,” Naidu stated. He expressed concerns about the atmosphere during Reddy’s leadership, alleging it fostered “a climate of fear” across the state, and pointed out that Reddy had failed to address provocative statements made by his party members.
Furthermore, Naidu outlined the NDA government’s strategy to boost investment in Visakhapatnam, with plans to enhance the IT sector and support the local film industry. He reassured that the government is committed to protecting the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) from privatization, reiterating, “Our priority is to complete the Polavaram Project by December 2027.”
In the same media event, Bheemunipatnam MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao also lambasted Reddy and other YSRCP leaders for making derogatory remarks about Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. This harvest of criticism from ruling party officials underscores the ongoing tensions in Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.
As the government pushes forward with its developmental agenda, the impact of these allegations and the commitment to irrigation projects will likely shape public perception and political dynamics in the region.
