Sunita, who is the second Indian astronaut to reach space, was part of a four-member crew that conducted scientific experiments on the ISS for 287 days.
The journey hit a snag due to a technical glitch, leaving the crew stranded. Reports emerging from NASA and the press highlighted the risks to their health, sparking widespread concern. Despite these challenges, the astronauts continued to carry out their duties, showcasing their professionalism and skill. The good news finally arrived on Wednesday, as the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft splashed down safely in the Gulf of America, off the coast of Tallahassee, Florida, at 0327 IST.

Their journey ended with a safe landing at 5:57 p.m. EDT, followed by a brief recovery period before returning to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston for a homecoming reunion with their families.
