In a significant crackdown on illegal activities near the Assam-Arunachal border, authorities seized 83 kilograms of cannabis and a handmade gun during coordinated police operations in the Mazbat area.
The raids were led by Sanjay Kumar Dubey, officer-in-charge of Mazbat police station, and I.C. Bhaskar Bora from Lalpani police station. The first operation took place at Habi near Nija Centre, where a handmade gun was found hidden in the dense jungle. This discovery highlights ongoing concerns about illicit weapon activities in the region.
In a second operation, law enforcement officials uncovered 83 kilograms of cannabis, dispersed across various parts of the forest. This significant find underscores the area’s persistent struggle with drug trafficking.
Authorities have registered a case related to the seizures at Mazbat police station under Number 19/24. Investigations are ongoing as the police work to dismantle the networks behind these illegal operations.
